"A high participation rate in the survey will give our class a chance for more recess!"
The above sentence was written in an email to all class parents of my child's kindergarten class. It is a public school, yes. My question is, why does my participation in this survey give only a chance of more recess time for my child? AND why does this even matter?
Recess time should not be an issue, because these 5-year olds should already be getting the required/allowed recess time. Why are we short-changing our children? Forget the fact that kindergarteners are not allowed gym time, only at First or Second grade, I cannot remember when exactly. I honestly do not understand this policy.
As a child I remember every single day we had recess - half-an-hour. Did my parents have to complete surveys etc. for our chance of getting more recess time? Is it because it was at a different time? (even country), was it because it was a private school?
It is not fair that my child is not getting the allowed recess time.
