I think I can give this post that title.
When I was younger - going to college, working, I loved wearing high heels. Be it in the form of boots, stilettos, sandals, I loved it. See, I am a short person, but high heels did not just give me height, they brought along with it sophistication and elegance, and dressed-up any outfit.
Aside from the aesthetically pleasing aspect of wearing high heels, they are very uncomfortable when walking a couple of blocks, climbing up and down stairs and they slow you down quite a bit. Some might beg to differ - Kelly Ripa anyone?. As a younger person I didn't mind all these negatives, as long as I looked good.
But, times have changed, and I believed it changed when I got pregnant. As you very well know, wearing heels when you're pregnant poses a hazard, again, some might beg to differ - um Sarah Jessica Parker? But that's the way I see it. And now I prefer to go for comfort rather than elegance. Don't get me wrong, I will still wear high heels, but only if I know for very sure I will not be walking very much in them, but rather sitting prim and proper; and also, for more conservative heels, say 2 inches rather than 3 and 4 inches.
Maybe it's not so much I got pregnant and I chose comfort over sophistication, but I got older.
My husband missed the earlier times...
